The Grey Watches
Lord Martin is the current head of house Cahill. He has four children, three sons and a daughter. He is a three times widower. He was one of four children, both his brothers are dead and he is often at odds with his sister. The years and countless battles have left their mark, he is slowing down, is missing his right arm at the elbow and injuries to his hip and leg have left him unable to ride.
His manner is curt and painfully blunt. He does not mince words or make much effort to conceal his opinions. He is practical to a fault, making him a hard man. Since the death of his third wife, Martin these traits have become much more evident. This has been exacerbated in the last year after his defeat and wounding at the Battle of the Threads.
His constant attempts to raise the standing of his house and his holdings have often led to conflicts with other lords. He is not well liked, though few number him among their enemies. He is respected for his skill as a warrior and leader of men. He fought with valor in the War of the Ninepenny Kings, and held the office of Marshal of the Grey Watches for a time.
